దక్షిణ అమెరికా ఖండంలోని కోస్టారికా దేశంలో ‘పోవాస్ అగ్నిపర్వతం పక్కన అడవుల మధ్యలో ఉంది.
న్యూస్ లైన్, స్పెషల్ డెస్క్: అదో చిన్న గుహ...గట్టిగా కొడితే గంటలో గుహను చుట్టి రావచ్చు. కాని ఆ గుహలోకి వెళ్లాలనుకోవడమే మృత్యువును ఆహ్వానించడంతో సమానం . అసలు ఇంతకీ ఏం గుహ ఎందుకు ఇంత డేంజర్ అని పరిశోధనలు చేశారు శాస్త్రవేత్తలు. విస్తుపోయే విషయాలు తెలిశాయి.దక్షిణ అమెరికా ఖండంలోని కోస్టారికా దేశంలో ‘పోవాస్ అగ్నిపర్వతం పక్కన అడవుల మధ్యలో ఉంది. అది ఎంత డేంజర్ అంటే... దానిపేరే ‘కేవ్ ఆఫ్ డెత్’ అంటే మృత్యు గుహ అని అర్ధమట.
గతంలో ఓ వ్యక్తి ఈ గుహ ద్వారానికి సమీపంలోకి వెళ్లాడు. గుహలో ఏముందో చూద్దామనుకునేలోపే ...ఒక్క అడుగు ముందుకు వెయ్యగానే ..తనకు విపరీతమైన కళ్లు తిరగడం..ఊపిరితిత్తులు సమస్యలు వచ్చాయట. అంతేకాదు చిన్న ఈగ కాని దోమ కాని పొరపాటున గుహ వైపు వెళితే టక్కున పడి చనిపోతుందట. ఇది పాతాళలోకానికి మరో దారని కూడా అక్కడి వాళ్లు నమ్ముతారట.
అసలు ఎందుకు ఇలా జరుగుతుందంటే గుహలో తీవ్ర స్థాయిలో కార్బన్ డయాక్సైడ్ వెలువడుతున్నట్టు శాస్త్రవేత్తలు గుర్తించారు. సమీపంలోని అగ్నిపర్వతం కారణంగా భూమి పొరల్లోని పగుళ్ల ద్వారా ఈ గుహలోకి కార్బన్ డయాక్సైడ్ లీకవుతున్నట్టు తేల్చారు. అది ఎంత అంటే ప్రతి గంటకు ఏకంగా 30 కిలోల కార్బన్ డయాక్సైడ్ వస్తున్నట్టు గుర్తించారు. దీని వల్లే ఎవ్వరు ఆ గుహలకి వెళ్లేకపోతున్నారు.
